Wee Walker on the Way!
I would imagine that most people who read this blog already know about our exciting news. Matt & I are expecting a wee one any day now and no, I am not pregnant! We are adopting!
We started with Christian Adoption Consultants in April by organizing our paperwork and staring our homestudy. What a huge process this was! We had to get lots of documents, fingerprints, and visits from our social worker (whom we would highly recommend!). Our goal was to have everything (applications, homestudy, etc.) completed before we left for Haiti in June.
Once we returned from Haiti we sent all of our applications in. This was the middle of June.
Several "situations" came & went but nothing was a match. We continued to pray that God would provide our child at just the right time. We asked for patience as we waited on His perfect timing. As we waited friends & family helped us prepare for our arrival. My dear friend Jenny threw a fantastic ISU themed baby-shower on August 13.
Then, on August 19 we got word that we were matched with a birthmom in Florida. Her due date is September 16.
Now we are waiting for our baby to enter the world. We don't know if it is a boy or girl but that doesn't really matter. What matters is this child will have a home where he/she will be loved unconditionally, just as God loves us. What a journey, what a joy!
